A Refurbished Boardwalk!
Following the successful application for funding from the UK Prosperity Fund / Bromsgrove District Council, the Alvechurch Parish Council (APC) appointed a local contractor, PGE Landscaping Limited, to replace the Boardwalk in The Meadows Park in Alvechurch. After 5 weeks, all has now been completed and the Boardwalk is entirely open for residents use. The well used boardwalk, has been replaced with composite Boards and composite supporting beams that will alleviate the need for regular maintenance and improve the surface for dog walkers and pedestrians. The Boards are constructed from recycled plastic and ensures a lasting solution for a much used walkway by the river where residents can enjoy a stroll under the tree canopy and the experience the sights of the flowing water, even in inclement weather. Additional handrails have also been installed in steeper sections of the walkway for additional safety. This was only made possible by the UK Prosperity Fund supporting the initiative and with APC project management / funding.
The Boardwalk is to be officially opened on Friday 17th October 2025, at 9am, by Cllr Worrall, Chairman of Alvechurch Parish Council. All Welcome
